Well, this truly is a momentous occasion, dear snackers.

All of us here are just pleased as a pile of pistachios to bring you the first issue of the second volume of Snacks Quarterly.

Getting ourselves to this point has been a long, arduous journey. We’ve travelled all over the world, we’ve spent countless nights sleepless, and we’ve searched deep within our souls. Looking for truth. Looking for the ever dissolving ties that bind the human race like so much cotton candy.

Over the past year we’ve gained a lot perspective.

And weight.

So much weight.

That’s why this evening I’ve forgone my usual regimen of chips, dips, and fried anything, and sat down to write to you accompanied only by a plate of ants on a log. Well, I suppose there are multiple logs, but “ants on logs” doesn’t quite have the same ring to it.

Whatever it is that I’m eating is my first step in turning over a new leaf. This year, while our contributors will continue to create pieces based on whatever snack moves them most deeply, I will attempt to wax poetic on healthier options.

Here’s to a great start to Volume 2 and a long life of snacking ahead.

Munch on,
