You and Albert Einstein are planning a weeklong road trip across the American Southwest. What snack do you pack in your little Coleman cooler?

A ton of beef jerky, naturally. It’s THE BEST road snack. Jerky wouldn’t need to be kept in a cooler though, which leaves all the more room for refreshing iced snacks. As far as drinks, I’d bring Mexican Cokes, because I’m guessing Al hasn’t had the pleasure and they are delicious. I’d make some delicious sandwiches, probably turkey bacon clubs on regular old white bread (this is America, ain’t it?). For dessert, peanut M&Ms kept on ice, so they don’t melt in the car.

It’s game night at Emily Dickinson’s house and you can’t show up empty-handed. What’s your move?

Truth or dare.

It’s Thomas Edison’s office party and you’ve signed up to bring cups and snacks. How are you going to take this get-together to the next level?

Glow sticks in the drinks—raver-college-party style.

You and Frida Kahlo have been walking around for two hours, trying to decide where to eat and now you are hangry. What do you snack on so you don’t bite each other’s heads off?

I pop by the closest bodega and grab string cheese, which is always mysteriously available as individual snacks in bodegas. And string cheese is amazing.

Ernest Hemingway is stuck at home, waiting for the cable guy, and he needs you to bring him something to munch on. What do you grab on your way over?

I’d order pizzas, because pizza can be both a snack and a meal and it is the perfect food.
